Walk the the less travelled track, explore trees, nooks and rock crevasses for wildlife and flora unique to Kununurra & the Kimberley
There are over 300 bird species in the Kimberley many of which can be found within 10 minutes of Kununurra
Find remarkable patterns, textures and colours in trees, rocks, sands and flowers of the region
On a Bird & Nature Photography Tour we find a nice comfortable spot and let nature come to us.
We move quietly leaving just footprints and taking only photographs. Much like fishing, we may not always get the one we are looking for but we still enjoy spending time outdoors in nature.
If you would like to capture an image of an iconic bird or animal of the Kimberley, explore the colours and formations of Kununurra red rock, or find a magical spot to watch a sunrise, Silent Tours can take you there.
Tours are scheduled for group bookings however a customised tour can be created specific to your interests.
Night time, dawn and dusk can be wonderful times for finding nocturnal species, intensifying rock colours, or making impressive escarpment images with magnificent starlit backdrops.

No, not at all. Many of my photos are taken from a mobile phone or a pocket camera
Some people chose not to bring a camera at all and stay "in the moment"
You might like to bring a pair of binoculars or borrow a pair from Silent Tours
Absolutely. Nature photography is a great way to increase physical activity, away from indoor screen time, and engage their developing senses in nature
Yes! However, many people including myself find that it is so difficult to capture what you actually see. This is, in part, because of how good our eye and brain are at taking in visual information compared to a camera. Its also easy to forget that we don't just use our eyes when we take a photos of something we appreciate - all of our other senses are involved too. Professional photographers can take hundreds of photos before settling with just the right one.
Silent Tours welcomes tag-along tours to accommodate the independent traveller however we can take up to 3 passengers in the green machine.
Sorry no. Silent Tours offers quietly paced tours. While you are welcome to carry a checklist, we will prioritise photography/ bird watching time at bird hides and nature venues.
