Kununurra Wet Season & Waterfall Tours

Tour Escapes Departing from Kununurra

Discover the Best of the Kimberley

The Kimberley at Nature's Pace

Specialising in serene escapes and small private groups, our Kununurra tours take you beyond the busy tourist stops to discover spectacular landscapes, abundant wildlife and the peaceful beauty of nature.

Choose from a range of unforgettable experiences, including scenic 4WD adventures, tranquil Ord River and Lake Kununurra EcoStar Accredited cruises, guided nature walks, wildlife spotting, photography opportunities and time to simply relax in secluded locations. Every tour is designed to immerse you in the Kimberley's natural environment rather than rush from one attraction to the next.

The East Kimberley is one of Australia's last great wilderness areas. Covering an area larger than the state of California, yet home to only around 40,000 people, it is a land of rugged sandstone ranges, vast savannah woodlands, ancient escarpments, winding waterways and monsoon-fed wetlands. Here, nature still sets the pace.

Every season reveals something different—from flowering water lilies and migratory birds to changing river conditions, dramatic storm skies and spectacular Kimberley sunsets—meaning no two tours are ever exactly the same. Whether you're visiting in the Dry Season or the Green Season, each journey offers new wildlife encounters and fresh perspectives on this extraordinary landscape.

With only around one person for every ten square kilometres, the Kimberley offers a rare opportunity to escape the crowds. If you've travelled all this way to experience one of Australia's most remote and beautiful regions, why spend your day on a crowded coach? Join Silent Tours for a relaxed, small-group adventure where you'll have time to connect with nature, discover hidden places and experience the Kimberley the way it was meant to be enjoyed.

Why Choose Silent Tours?

Locally owned and operated, Silent Tours aims to provide you with an immersive experience in the East Kimberley with tours departing from Kununurra. Specialising in Relaxing Tours, we can leave a little earlier to leave the crowds behind, making a Silent Tour an ideal choice for those seeking tranquillity

At Silent Tours, we believe the best way to experience the East Kimberley is in a small group, at a relaxed pace, with a local guide who knows and genuinely loves the region.

Every tour is personally guided by owner-operator Steve, a qualified Nature Guide who has spent almost two decades exploring the East Kimberley.

As a proudly locally owned and operated Kununurra business, Steve shares his passion for the Ord River, local wildlife, history and remarkable landscapes. Whether you're spotting birdlife along the riverbanks, exploring secluded 4WD locations or enjoying the peace of our Ord River Cruise, you'll experience the Kimberley through local eyes.

Because Silent Tours is on the Ord River and exploring the East Kimberley almost every day, your guide experiences the subtle seasonal changes that many never notice. The arrival of migratory birds, seasonal shifts, flowering native plants, changing river levels, and wildlife behaviour that are all connected, creating experiences that are unique to that day and season.

More than 140 five-star Google reviews consistently describe Silent Tours as knowledgeable, informative, personalised and relaxing, with many guests saying their tour was a highlight of their Kimberley holiday.  Many mention Steve's local knowledge, attention to detail and willingness to answer questions, making every tour feel more like exploring with a knowledgeable local than joining a large commercial excursion.

By choosing Silent Tours, you're supporting a locally owned Kununurra business built around small groups, slower travel, careful wildlife viewing and a genuine connection with the East Kimberley.

Travelling Solo?

Travelling alone doesn't mean you have to miss out on exploring the East Kimberley.

As a small, locally operated tour business, Silent Tours has the flexibility to accommodate solo travellers where possible. We operate for most of the year, including outside Kununurra's peak visitor season when many tours have limited availability.

Kununurra is a year-round destination, and the experience changes with the seasons. While the dry season is the traditional peak visitor period, the wet season transforms the East Kimberley, bringing flowing waterfalls, crystal clear swimming holes, vibrant green landscapes, opportunities for waterfall walks and 4WD experiences that aren't available at other times of year. During the quieter periods, tours can often be arranged for just one guest. Depending on the tour, date and itinerary, we may also be able to match your plans with other bookings.

In Kununurra for work? If you're working in Kununurra or the East Kimberley temporarily and would like to explore beyond town during your time off, get in touch. Our small-group tours and flexible scheduling mean we can often arrange an experience around your days off and availability.

If you're travelling solo, get in touch. Let us know when you'll be in Kununurra and what you'd like to experience, and we'll see what we can arrange.

Good things await outdoors... We take you there
